Preliminary Product Design

See your product before you build it.

Request to be considered

Every request is reviewed personally.

The problem

Design problems are cheapest to fix on screen.

A rendering shows proportions, parts and finish long before a mold or a prototype is paid for.

  • You have a concept but can't picture how it will look or fit together.
  • You need something to show partners, buyers or backers that isn't a sketch.
  • You want feedback before you commit to a final design.

Fit

Who this is for

  • You have a concept and want it visualized in 3D.
  • You expect the design to go through iterations and want them handled properly.

  • Preliminary design iteration report

How it works

How it works

Every engagement is scoped to what you need, on its own or combined with other services into one program. When a project needs outside expertise, such as specialized testing and certification labs, marketing or creative agencies, or logistics and packaging suppliers, we manage those vendors and specialists for you.

  1. Tell us what you need

Share your project and where it stands today. A line or two is plenty.

  2. Initial consultation

If there's a fit, we talk through your goals, constraints, timing and budget, candidly.

  3. Tailored proposal

A proposal scoped to what you need: what we'll do and what it takes.

  4. Dedicated partnership

A project manager and our network of strategic partners carry the work forward with you.

FAQ

Questions, answered plainly

Is a rendering the same as a CAD model?

A rendering is a realistic image produced from a 3D model. Preliminary design produces the model and the renderings; final design turns the model into detailed specifications for production.

How many iterations are included?

Design iterations based on feedback and functional requirements are part of the service. The number is agreed in your proposal, and the iteration report records what changed and why.

Can I use the renderings for marketing?

Yes. They're high-resolution and yours. Many clients use them for pre-launch pages, pitches and buyer conversations before a physical product exists.

What if the design reveals a problem?

That's the point of doing it now. We identify issues early and work through them in iterations, rather than discovering them in a prototype.

What does it cost?

Every engagement is scoped to what you need, so we price it in a proposal after we have reviewed your request. We'll be candid about budget and fit from the first conversation.

What happens after I submit?

Every request is reviewed personally, and we'll be in touch about next steps.
