Upfront Cost Estimation

See the whole cost of getting to market before you commit to any of it.

Request to be considered

Every request is reviewed personally.

The problem

The first quote is never the whole cost.

A product's cost to make is one line. Development, tooling, packaging, certification, marketing and freight are the rest, and they surprise people.

  • You've been quoted for one part and have no idea what the rest will add up to.
  • You need a number before you can talk to a lender, a partner or your own family.
  • You don't want to run out of money halfway to launch.

FAQ

Questions, answered plainly

How accurate is the estimate?

It's an estimate, built from your design, your target quantities and current costs in each area. It's meant to plan a budget and spot the big items early, not to replace supplier quotes, which come later, in Sourcing.

What does it cover?

Product development, manufacturing, marketing and distribution, broken down so you can see what drives the total. You receive a cost breakdown report and a financial planning document.

Do I need a finished design first?

No. The further along your design is, the tighter the estimate, but we can work from a concept and show you what the ranges depend on.

Will you help me reduce the costs?

The report shows where the money goes, which is the first step. Reducing it is the work of design, sourcing and logistics, and we can scope that with you.

What does it cost?

Every engagement is scoped to what you need, so we price it in a proposal after we have reviewed your request. We'll be candid about budget and fit from the first conversation.

What happens after I submit?

Every request is reviewed personally, and we'll be in touch about next steps.
